Here is an open letter to the Airlines CEOs
Hard copies have been sent to the relevant parties. If we get a response we will let you know here.
To Whom It may Concern
I am writing to you on behalf of the Air Travel Advisory Bureau, an organisation that is seeking to provide a level playing field for airlines and your passengers.
One of our concerns is the large sum retained by airlines in Air Passenger Duty and taxes collected from passengers who miss their flights for whatever reason.
One report indicated that a major airline kept £5 million from customers that should have been rightfully returned to them. Some airlines actually make a charge for returning this money. Others fail to publicise these refunds in any easily accessible or high profile way.
I therefore invite you to become the first to do so, and to set a new standard in the quality of service and consumer responsiveness for airline passengers.
Thank you for giving this matter your attention.
